On October 22-23, 2011, the Asian preliminaries of the 36th ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) started at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. There were 144 team participating in the competition in total, including 88 universities such as Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Zhongshan University,Wuhan University, Electronic Science and Technology University, 2 High Schools and 1 university from Mongolia. Students from SCCE, Feng Zilong, He Taihua and Wang Zhihao's RX78_Beyond team participated on behalf of the GUCAS. After close competition, RX78_Beyond successfully qualified for the world finals of ICPC, which will be held in Warsaw, Poland in May 2012.
